Portrait of Anne-Sophie 🎬 Internal mobility
Three words to sum up your internal mobility?
Anne-Sophie: Learning. Challenge. Fulfilment.
What has been your career path at D-EDGE?
Anne-Sophie: I joined D-EDGE in August 2016 as a Switchboard Operator, which is now the Office Manager position. I then moved to Customer Service as a Technical Support Specialist, before joining the Level 2 team, which I managed for almost three years. I then became Project Manager for the STAR project and, for the past two and a half years, I have been Product Manager for the Internal Tools team.
Can you summarise your job in one sentence for a five-year-old?
Anne-Sophie: I would say that we help hotels to have easy-to-understand invoices and useful tools for our colleagues.
What factors contributed to your internal mobility?
Anne-Sophie: Over time, many things have helped me to evolve, particularly working with my colleagues in Customer Service! It was a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere where I learned a lot and gained a lot of training. It made me even more eager to understand the requests I was making. I always wanted to go further, and in the end I became a little frustrated at not being able to solve problems on my own. That's why I applied for Level 2! Even though I didn't necessarily come from that background, I had access to certain training courses. I remember one book in particular on management that was very enriching. Finally, for the Internal Tools position, I simply found the job offer on the D-EDGE website and went through the standard application process. I think there are lots of great opportunities out there!
What key skills did you develop in your previous roles and how do you think they are useful to you today?
Anne-Sophie: Level 2 is an excellent school because you have to learn and know the D-EDGE tools inside out, as you are the last step before sending requests to the developers at Level 3. This allowed me to get to know all the R&D teams and gain a good understanding of the platform. Managing this team for almost three years, during the merger between Availpro and Fastbooking (on top of the pandemic), taught me a lot. In particular, I learned to try to understand the team members. We were starting remote working, so we had to anticipate their needs and try to communicate with them as much as possible. And, due to the merger of the two companies, we had to test new processes and document them.
What impact has this internal mobility had on your professional and personal life?
Anne-Sophie: I gained self-confidence and felt recognised by D-EDGE (which I still do today)!
As part of International Women's Day, what advice would you give to your colleagues?
Anne-Sophie: Don't hesitate to take a chance, even if on paper you're not the ideal candidate, because we sometimes tend to underestimate ourselves!
